Life, a lie
Cinderella story of the fables;
Epic narratives of great nations;
Folklore songs of simpletons;
All ratify victory of good over evil.
Light above darkness is imagination
To retain the hope of a ‘morrow
Planted as a seed in childhood, to be nurtured into vegetation.
Man has seen not anything but the conquest of the weak by the strong.
The fall of the simple to the deceptive;
The crushing of the poor by the prosperous;
The triumph of betrayal over trust;
The only realities of life presented on a platter.
Blinded by the illusion of a bright reality
Man’s farcical life is a lie unto self.
Hope prolonging the wait for good to arrive
With the inevitable and only eventuality – fall presenting, albeit painted in multiple hues.
The deception of life makes living unworthy.
Call out, oh mortal man if your experience narrates otherwise,
Again to paint a streak of hope that you create
To make another’s lie of living look like life.
