Judgement day
The Son knows not when it comes;
Some men wrongly preempt this day of reckoning;
Rulers fear the day that brings it;
The proud bask in its impending destruction to creation.
From ‘our’ day of togetherness in love, to my day before Him –
A long journey of climbing and falling, recognition and rejection.
Did I clothe the homeless, feed the hungry, visit prisoners in their confinement?
I clothed with lost esteem, fed hearts’ yearning, packed every void.
After all of the giving, I sought not for mine but
Your perfection in word and deed, only to be spurned.
What is your verdict to those that question You
After a lifetime of obedient fear?
